Planning a big trip, is this guide actually worth reading before I go? - forresthale - 03.11.2026 I'm taking my Wrangler on a long drive through the mountains next month and I want to give the engine a proper once over before I'm somewhere with no phone signal and no recovery truck. It's done about 150k and has been solid, but I keep hearing horror stories about coolant loss and ticking noises on the 3.6 and I'd rather find issues in my driveway than halfway up a mountain. A mate sent me This Pentastar 3.6L engine repair guide from Jeep Service Musaffah and said it was worth a read before a trip, but I'm curious whether it's actually useful or just the usual vague advice. Has anyone here used it to prepare for a long drive? Did it help you spot something you would have missed, or did you end up going to a garage anyway? I'd rather hear from real owners than just take a chance on it. |
